What are the major components of a typical schoolhouse?

• Buildings and classrooms. symplr Learning has building and classroom tracking and scheduling capabilities.
• Report cards. symplr Learning has robust assessment and compliance, transcript, and enrollment reports that can be emailed to department managers.
• Teachers and instructors. Live classes are classes taught by a person in a building at a specific time and are not the same as CBLs. Instructors may be employees like you, or individuals brought in from outside the organization. All instructors must be in symplr Learning before they can be scheduled to teach a class.
• Erasers, pencils, paper. Erasers, pencils, and paper are tools that teachers use to help students learn. symplr Learning refers to these items as Equipment and categorizes it as Equipment Types. Examples of items that can be tracked in symplr Learning include overhead projectors, LCD projectors, and laptops.
• Students. Students are the people in your facility who will take CBLs and attend live classes. In symplr Learning, they are referred to as "Learners". Learners may include traditional and contract employees, volunteers, and community members. Their educational histories are kept as a transcript in symplr Learning.
• Courses, classes, and curricula. Every school has courses and curricula. symplr Learning tracks all courses regardless of how they are completed: by an instructor-led class, a computer-based learning module (CBL), or other methods of course completion such as video, conference, teleconference and demonstrations.
• Tests and exams. Tests and test scores in the school are also tracked in symplr Learning for both live and web-based courses. Regardless of the method of course completion, an online exam can be administered and symplr Learning keeps an accurate history of all exams and grades.
• Principals. Just as schoolhouses have principals to administer their daily operation, symplr Learning enables a select group of people within your organization to efficiently and effectively administer the training of your staff.
