Role form

The Role form provides an area to manage permissions for roles when editing existing or creating new roles.

Name Type the name of the role into the text box.
Curricula

Select the Curricula check box to grant this role administrative rights over the curricula in symplr Learning administrator.

  • Select Add to allow the role to add new curricula.
  • Within the Access options grouping, specify what rights (if any) administrators who are assigned this role will have over their Own records and over All records.
    • Select Edit to allow the role to edit curricula.
    • Select Delete to allow the role to delete curricula.
Course

Select the Course check box to grant this role administrative rights over the courses in symplr Learning administrator.

  • Select Add to allow the role to add new courses.
  • Within the Access options grouping, specify what rights (if any) administrators who are assigned this role will have over their Own records and over All records.
    • Select Edit to allow the role to edit courses.
    • Select Delete to allow the role to delete courses.
Learners

Select the Learners check box to grant this role administrative rights over the learners in symplr Learning administrator.

  • Select Add to allow the role to add new learners.
  • Select Edit to allow the role to edit learners.
  • Select Delete to allow the role to delete learners
  • Select Merge to allow the role to merge two learner records together.
Classes

Select the Schedule check box to grant this role administrative rights over scheduled classes in symplr Learning administrator.

  • Select Add to allow the role to add new scheduled classes.
  • Within the Access options grouping, specify what rights (if any) administrators who are assigned this role will have over their Own records and over All records.
    • Select Edit to allow the role to edit scheduled classes.
    • Select Delete to allow the role to delete scheduled classes.

Select the Record check box to grant this role administrative rights over recorded classes in symplr Learning administrator.

  • Select Add to allow the role to add new recorded classes.
  • Select View all learners to allow the role to view all learners when working with recorded classes.
  • Within the Access options grouping, specify what rights (if any) administrators who are assigned this role will have over their Own records and over All records.
    • Select Edit to allow the role to edit recorded classes.
    • Select Delete to allow the role to delete recorded classes.
Enroll

Select Courses to allow the role to have administrative access over course enrollment.

  • Select Enroll Own to allow the role to enroll learners in its own courses.
  • Select Enroll All to allow the role to enroll learners in all courses.

Select Classes to allow the role to have administrative access over class enrollment.

  • Select Enroll Own to allow the role to enroll learners in its own classes.
  • Select Enroll All to allow the role to enroll learners in all classes.

In the box under Allow users to manage enrollment for classes with a status of:, select the class statuses that describe the classes that will be available for editing and enrollment to symplr Learning Administrators and through NetManager Plus in symplr Learning. Hold CTRL on your computers keyboard while clicking to select multiple statuses.

Note: Though the status Cancelled may be selected from this menu, it is still never possible to enroll Learners into cancelled classes. Administrators granted the ability to manage enrollment for Cancelled classes will be given the ability to remove existing enrollments from canceled classes only.

Other Rights

Click Manage Tests to allow the role to have administrative rights over tests.

Click Manage Resources to allow the role to have administrative rights over resources.

Click Customize Reports to allow the role to modify report templates.

Click Course imports to allow the user to access the Course Imports area in order to modify and add course content.

Click NetManager Access to allow the role administrative rights in NetManager.

Click Manage Content to allow the user to access the File Manager area in order to upload and download content through the Learnmod folder.

Click Over-ride Conflicts (Schedule, Pre-Requisite, Payments) to allow the role the ability to resolve issues with payments and scheduling within symplr Learning Administrator.

Click Manage System Settings and Security to allow the role to have administrative access over system settings and security.

Click View Dashboard Reports to allow the role to view dashboard reports.

Click HR/Transcript Imports / Utilities Exports to allow the role to have administrative access to imports and exports.

Report Rights

The Report Rights section controls access to the individual reports available in symplr Learning.

Checking the box next to a report grants access to that report for the current role.
