Competencies
Within any role, there are certain industry-wide standards that professionals must master to ensure health and safety of patients. It is important to continuously refresh employees to these standards, through courses and other assessments, in order to ensure that standards are maintained and updated over time.
symplr Learning streamlines the creation, assignment, and validation process for employee competencies by bundling vital skill sets into competency packages that can be automatically assigned to learners, and by providing various methods to collaboratively validate a learner's ability to successfully perform necessary tasks.
Competencies can consist of a single skill that must be demonstrated, or a collection of multiple skills that need to be successfully performed.
Basic competencies require a learner to demonstrate every skill that's listed for a competency. When viewing competency information, these skills are separated by AND statements to indicate that all of the skills listed in the bottom portion of the window are required for the competency to be complete.
Complex competencies are indicated using AND/OR statements, meaning learners can select which skills or methods they use to demonstrate their proficiency for the overall competency.
- When skills are separated by AND, the learner must complete those skills or sets of skills to accomplish the competency.
- When skills are separated by OR, the learner may choose one or the other skills or sets of skills to accomplish the competency.
