Taking A Test
Courses often contain a final test or exam that you must pass in order to prove you have acquired the necessary skills from the course material. Individual courses have different requirements for passing the test (e.g. 80% or higher is a passing grade), so carefully review the test requirements and course materials before taking tests.
A course contains one of two different ways to take tests: either by completing a test within the course module itself, or by launching its test via an icon on the Launch Course page.
Some courses provide the option to bypass the course content and move straight to the test portion of the course.
-
Clicking Launch in the course's tile in the To Do List opens the Launch Course page.
-
Click Take Test to open the test. This option may remain available to you even after you have reviewed the course material.
-
The following screen asks you to confirm that you would like to proceed with the test. To continue, select Click Here to Proceed.
-
Proceed through the test and submit your answers to each question presented by selecting your answer from the options presented below the question.
-
Click the Grade Test button after answering the final question of the test (as indicated by the Test Question Progress bar along the bottom of the test screen).
-
The Grade Test Button opens a prompt explaining that you are about to submit your answers for the test, and asks if you would like to finish, grade and record the test submission. Click Grade to continue.
-
The next screen displays the grade for the test and whether or not that grade is a 'Pass' or 'Fail'.
- Clicking Return to symplr Learning returns you to the To Do List.
The structure of tests found within a course itself can vary depending on the content provider, so it's important to review the course materials and test requirements before beginning the test. Some courses even contain quizzes midway through courses to test your knowledge as you progress through materials.
When taking tests within a course, follow the instructions presented in the course window and answer each question to the best of your ability. If your score at the end of the post-test meets the grading requirements, then congratulations! You passed! If you didn't pass, simply go back and review the course content using the navigation panel on the left-hand side, and then come back to give it another try.
When returning to symplr Learning, make sure to click the Save score and return to symplr Learning button to ensure your test score is saved and you get credit for the course.
