About Screening
Screening in symplr Recruiting refers to the collection and analysis of information relating to the applicant that goes above and beyond the usual data submitted for a job posting. Screenings assist with the evaluation of an applicant to determine if they are the right candidate for a particular opening at your organization.
There are three main types of screening in symplr Recruiting:
- Background check. Background checks on the applicant performed by third-party vendors.
- Assessments. Assessments are details regarding the behavior, skills, and general profile of the applicant. This includes:
- symplr Staff Assessment (HSA). Staff assessments have been designed and validated to identify top performers.
- symplr Leadership Assessment (HLA). Leadership assessments have been designed and validated by hospitals to identify the very best healthcare leaders.
- Reference check. Reference checks on the applicant involve contacting and gathering information from people the applicant has submitted as professional and/or personal references for the position they are applying. symplr Reference Assessment (HRA) is an advanced employee reference check solution that automates pre-employment reference checking.
Screening information can be found on the Applicants page and the Applicant Detail page.
The Applicants page has a column in the applicants table dedicated to displaying the current status of the different screening types. The final column of the table contains colored indicators under the headings of A (assessments), B (background check), and R (reference check).
Clicking these colored indicators expands the row and displays the Screening tab from the applicant's Applicant Detail page.
On the Applicant Detail page itself, screening information is found in the Additional Information section under the Screening tab. There are several links available for the different types of screening (Background, Assessments, Reference) that display information about the selected screenings.
The table on the Screening tab lists several informational columns about the requested screenings:
- Last Update. This is the date of the last change to the requested screening.
- Vendor. This lists which vendor was used for the screening.
- Status. The current status of the screening.
- Actions. This column provides a quick link to actions for the screening. More information about this functionality will be added once it has been introduced.
