Applicant Status

Once an application has been received in symplr Recruiting, it progresses through a list of applicant statuses. These help define the current state of the application, reducing the time it takes to locate and process applicants for openings.

The available statuses for an applicant are defined below.

  • New. The applicant recently applied to an opening and their credentials have not been reviewed by someone in your organization.
  • Active - Reviewed. The applicant was reviewed to see if they are a good match for the job opening.
  • Active - Phone Screen. The applicant is scheduled for a phone screen interview.
  • Active - Sent to Manager. The applicant's information was sent to a manager for review.
  • Active - Interview. The applicant is ready to have an interview.
  • Active - Interview Scheduled. The applicant has an interview scheduled.
  • Active - Interview Complete. The applicant has completed their scheduled interview.

  • File - Hired. The applicant is hired for the opening.

For clients that utilize Onboarding, there are additional statuses related to the File - Hired status:

    • File - Hired - OB Needed. The applicant has been chosen for hire, but has yet to be assigned any onboarding documents for completion.
    • File - Hired - In process. The applicant has been sent the necessary onboarding documents. The system is waiting for the applicant to complete the assigned documents, or for the necessary symplr Recruiting users to sign off on (approve) those documents.
    • File - Hired - Finished. The applicant has completed the onboarding documents, and the necessary symplr Recruiting users have signed off on (approved) those documents.
  • File - Not Hired. The applicant has not been hired for the opening. No further action is necessary for the application.
  • File - Not Hired - Viable. The applicant is not hired for the opening, but may be a good fit for other openings in your organization. The applicant may be resubmitted or reassigned to other openings.
