Goals

Goals provide a way for employees and managers to track performance across an organization. Administrators can review and sometimes edit goals that you or your employees have been assigned to and completed.

There are two separate types of goals available in symplr Performance:

  • Development Goals. Development goals are used by managers to encourage employees to improve and meet specific performance targets. These goals appear as tasks for employees to complete once the goal has been met. A common strategy of the development goal is to challenge an employee to apply their knowledge and abilities in new, perhaps even unconventional methods that yield beneficial results to themselves and/or the organization.
  • Performance Goals. Performance goals are used to evaluate employees during scheduled appraisals. These goals are typically more specific, tangible achievements that may be evaluated against some sort of measurable benchmark. They are added to employee job descriptions and are rated during appraisals.
