New Feature!
symplr Performance already offers several ways to comment on and measure employee progress like Appraisals and Feedback. But how does an employee keep track of their own activities and achievements outside of the annual review cycle? Introducing the Employee Journal, a quick and easy way to keep your own written record of events and accomplishments throughout the year.
The Employee Journal allows you to quickly jot down a summary of events and activities, and enables you to reference them just as quickly whenever you need. Keep track of your training seminars, conference attendance, or any quick activities you want to remember, all within your own personal profile. Your entries are only viewable by you – not your manager – so you can add any type of note needed.
The Employee Journal has been enabled for everyone by default. So, anytime you're compelled to transcribe your thoughts, click the new Journal icon found within the Recognition and Remarks menu on your Tasks page. If your organization doesn’t use Recognition and Remarks, no problem! The Journal icon still appears in the bottom-right corner of the Tasks page.
Clicking that icon opens the Journal Entry form, a simple pop-up for capturing your thoughts. Once created, you can view your entries on the Feedback page under My Folder. Previous notes are easily reviewed by clicking View your Journal on the Journal Entry form.

New Feature: Performance Vitals
symplr Performance excels at capturing and maintaining performance data for employees, from goals and appraisals to compensation and succession planning – even learning and assessment integrations. However, viewing all this collected data required visiting multiple pages within the solution.
Performance Vitals provides a one-page summary overview of an entire employee’s performance profile. Displaying all the relevant information in a single view means you no longer have to click through multiple pages in symplr Performance to gather necessary data, making it easier to get a holistic view of employee performance.
We've prepared a feature overview document to help you get started. Check it out and let us know what you think!

- Reports. An all-new tasks report is now available! The Non-Appraisal Task Status report, available on the Standard Reports page, provides configurable filters that allow you to narrow the results in a variety of way. This robust filtering allows the new report to replace several existing reports, which have been removed (Task View Alerts, Tasks Active, Tasks Completed, Tasks Past Due). (Ref# 265)

Special Interface Update!
What's this? A release notes update on a Monday? Nope, you're not suffering from hallucinations brought on by holiday music overload (yet), this is a legit update that we just couldn’t wait to deliver.
In addition to regular updates that deliver new and improve upon existing features in symplr Performance, we're also continually working on upgrading the interface itself. Delivering upgrades to the technology that drives the user interface allows us to provide a cleaner interface - which makes it easier to locate and use features within the solution - and support the growing trend towards mobile devices with responsive designs that automatically adapt to varying screen sizes.
Several areas in symplr Performance have already been updated (the latest being the new look for the Tasks page), but this time we've painted with a much broader brush and hit several pages throughout the solution at once.
While you may notice the updated page styling, rest assured that the functionality of these pages hasn't changed. Access to all the features and tasks remains the same as before, it just looks better now!
Check out the list of the updated pages, then head back to symplr Performance to have a look for yourself. As always, let us know what you think of the updates!

(Ref# 115331)
- 360 Reviews. There's a couple new settings available for 360 Reviews:

Position titles are "stamped" at these times for the following tasks:

We hope you all had a fantastic July 4th holiday! The long weekend didn't prevent us from forging ahead in our pursuit of total customer satisfaction, and we have a great new feature we're excited to alert everyone about.
New Feature: Development Plans
Professional development is one of the cornerstones of our working lives. It keeps us interested in our work, gives us the drive to progress in our careers, keeps healthcare competitive and, ultimately, makes us employable throughout our lives.
With the release of Development Plans in symplr Performance, you now have the ability to define comprehensive courses of action for employees - and yourself - to help develop skillsets and achieve those career goals. Development plans provide detail on the overall goal for the employee (e.g. improve leadership skills), which drill down into Development Opportunities and specific Activities that support overall goals. You can even add Coaches to a plan to assist the employee with Activities.
There's more to learn about Development Plans - including integration with symplr Leadership Assessments - so head over to the Development Plan section of our online help for details on all the available functionality. We've even created a quick start guide so you can jump right in and begin planning.

A new setting provides the ability to delete tasks relating to a terminated employee so the tasks don't continue to appear in other employee task lists (such as appraisal tasks about the terminated employee). When enabled, the Delete tasks when employee terminates option (found on the Settings page under Admin) automatically removes tasks about the terminated employee. (Ref# 112624)
- Reports. The 360 Summary Report now provides evaluator comments along with any questions in the review. The comments appear in one column, and the evaluator relationship with the subject is displayed in another column. (Ref# 112574)
- Tables. The tables found on several pages throughout symplr Performance have received an updated interface that provides the ability to search content and sort the table using the available column headings. This update applies to:
- Job Description pages found under the My Folder, Employees, and Admin - All Employees areas. (Ref# 113651)
- Routing Users pages found under the Admin area. (Ref# 112813)

(Ref# 112438)

We know what you're thinking: they just had a major release on Monday, and now there's more stuff released the same week? Crazy, right?
Our development teams banged out more work last week than anticipated (they really are rock stars), but it was too late to include those items in the 5.0.7 release. So we decided to use those items as a bridge to the adoption of continuous release, and wanted to make sure we let you know what's new in the solution.
After this update, we'll begin using a standard two-week cycle for posting updates of our activities here. Feel free to bookmark this topic and check back to see what's been delivered.
